 Roof Tank Pumps

A roof tank pump is a pump that pushes hot and cold water from the base of a house or building to the roof tank using a mechanical device. Most heating pump technology moves heat from a low temperature source to a higher temperature heat sink. Common examples are refrigerators, residential freezers, residential air conditioners, and reversible-cycle heat pumps for providing warmth in commercial facilities and buildings.  It is important to remember that roof tank pumps are gravity driven.

Heating pumps can be thought of as a heat engine which is operating in reverse. One common type of heat pump works by exploiting the physical properties of an evaporating and condensing fluid known as a refrigerant. Most commonly, heat pumps draw heat from the air or from the ground. Some air-source heat pumps do not work as well when temperatures fall below around −5C(23F).
